The Shadow’s Horizon

Luna

A story must be said, where the weary tread,

They navigate unguided, each step misled,

But they still walk, seeking warmth and light,

In grounds that often shun their sight.

There are no whispers in cities so laring,

Just rising doubts, like heavy declaring:

“What is the cost of silence?”

As quiet sacrifices intertwine, they glean,

“Was this journey truly mine?”

Then comes the blinding light, bright and bold,

Shaping the truth, their tales still fold.

But is it really sunny if there’s no shade?

Feeling like mere background gaze,

A tool?

A push and pull?

Thrown astray?

We are cast aside.

Longing in this grand scheme,

Compensation in this painted dream.

Yearning to be seen, to find a place to belong,

Especially in a world that sings “Are you Lost?”

As one may bring warmth or shine a moonlight,

Not thousand moons can reflect what’s been disguised,

Shattered mirror glares, like a damning silver,

You bid me to look at your pieces,

And decry at my inferiority.

No bridge too long, forever on the same crust.

In the bookshelves of untold, to breathe the dust.

Chasing dreams that shimmer yet lead nowhere,

I’m still the shadow to your blinding light.
